Diving in Walt Disney World
Yes, you can now experience a dive in a 6 million gallon aquarium
75m diam * 9m deep with more than 65 species of marine life, including
sharks, turtles, eagle rays and diverse tropical fish. This dive offers
guaranteed calm seas, no current, 200 ft visibility, incredible marine
life and bright coral structures. It could only happen at the Living
Seas in Epcot part of the fabulous Walt Disney World in Florida! Well
that's what the glossy brochure said. I had the chance to give this a go and decided to part with
my hard earned cash. The whole programme lasted about 3 hours with
the total dive time lasting approximately 30 - 40 mins. It was a good
experience. This aquarium really is huge and the windows incredible,
but this time I was looking out rather than in and fun, as you could
amke the visitors laugh and when swimming past the restaurant windows,
one could take the mouthpiece out and make suggestions that you were
hungry or that looks good is there any left? The organisation and programme was excellent. The diving was
fun and very different being on the inside - although it was a little
tame. However the overall experience made up for this and you do get
a certificate and T-shirt to pose with at the end. So if you're heading for Walt Disney World Florida, take your
certification card with id photo and give it a go. It's one of those
rare experiences you can't do in many other places. Martin Cox
